I just did ...
One of my Reds just crapped out and the truck was barely turning over the last two mornings (both were below 30*)... anyway I had the batteries checked and the drivers side was the culprit... I didn't want to replace just one and mine were just out of warranty...and at $169ea. times two, that was going to be a bit steep...
So I get to talking with the store manager and he tells me of these short dated batteries he just pulled from the shelf so I took a look and knew I would have to make some adjustments...A longer DS negative cable($12.99) was all it would take so I picked that up and brought the batteries home for the retrofit...keep in mind that these are marine deep cycle/starting batteries...so there are only top posts and the wing nut stud for connections...all I had to do was remove the side post screw and rubber shielding from around the eye part of the cable and the eyes slipped right over the stud and I torqued them down...with the exception that drivers side negative cable being replaced(that went pretty quick even though I took some time to reroute it from the original path that didn't make since to me)
So I got this great deal on two optima blues...
The Price?
$34.99 each
two batteries...all for much less than one replacement Red...
