I'm getting ready to mount my belt drive fisher plow hyd pump on the optimizer.

I'm not really interested in bolting an extra pulley to the fluidamper/front pulley as per the Fisher OE kit.

My thoughts are to mount it on the drivers side below the AC compressor, pop in an idler pulley to get good belt contact and use the serpentine system to drive it.

I also thought maybe try and mount it down where the vac pump was, but I just don't think there's enough room there.

I'm also thinking of adapting an AC compressor clutch so I can turn the pump on and off as needed.

Anyone else have a belt drive pump mounted on their 6.5?

Pictures maybe?

I think we're talking about the same pump. What about a remote resevoir even if you have to buy a diff pump. I seriously considered putting mine where the vac pump was but the AC was easier and I don't need AC on a plow truck

I have the complete hydraulic MM setup on my rig. I can get you pictures this afternoon during class break. Mine is mounted to the drivers side, but i also have a 94, so the serp setup is a tad different. My truck has 2 brackets and added puley to the H/B. Very fool proof setup! It has never broke.

Here's a pic of my actual pump:

Can't see how that comes apart into a separate reservoir...

Some pics, let me know if you need anything in specific taken.

This is the reason i couldnt install my CS-144.....

The pump you have there GW is the cheapest to work with. The pumps with ecternal reseviors seems to be a lot more expensive, plus there are a bunch of plowers in the local JY with this setup, so all it would be is a swap out. Mine is starting to get a little slow, but I got to remember that that pump is spinning all the time the engine is running. So a clutch idea would be sweet! I usually take the belt off in the summer, but it is a pain with my bracketry. None the less it is a major pain to check my power steering fluid! To spin the pulley on the hyd. pump doesnt seem very strenuous, wonder if you could get away with something like that?

What do those pumps price out to?

I just rebuilt a bale deck and transferred it to a different truck. The new serpentine clutch was $320cdn. Old truck used V belts.

The pumps on these bale decks are an EATON if IIRC, they look to be much more robust than the Fisher. They are a cast pump, I think they are similar in price.

My pump is quite a bit smaller than the ones from like Northern Hydraulics. Not sure on the volume diff. Fisher prices are nuts

I believe these come in 3,5,7,9 gal flow rates. If I think of it tomorrow I'll take a pic. I have one out right now.
