I'm thinking I need new injectors,,, 167000 miles and counting,, Most likey causing the extra smoke at start up for me,, And as discussed in a previous post, my #2 injector had some fluid on it that I think was fuel from a leaking injector. Plus with my driving habits,, 4:10 gears and 265 tires,, I should be getting better than 14MPG's

So any thoughts? Let's hear them!

I have no personal experence with"Herzog injectors" I've read bad things about them. I do have a small amount of experence with "medallion injectors" that I bought from accurate diesel. Working good so far[3 months]. $250 +or- for a set. Supposedly they are made in canada. I've heard that walt 's[ss diesel] are medallion. Accurate also offers rebuilts for about the same price.

From everything I've read it's best to stick with Bosch, Stanadyne, AC Delco or one other one that escapes me right now.

I think I read somewhere that Napa rebuilts are really Delphi New injectors. Some of the guys that have been around a while may be able to coment on this. And if I remember correctly the price wasn't bad.

Then I seen these. There supposed to be rebuilts with Bosch parts. I could just by bosch tips,, and have a local diesel shop rebuild mine,, but I would like to just put some in and be done.

Napa has Echlin here: Links to NAPA online store removed $267.52 before tax 12mo warranty

Napa must have really dropped their price. The last time I priced them there they were $80 each for new and $85 each for reman. Kinda ass backwards.

Same here. I bought a few Delphi's last year for over 80 a piece to get me back on the road...

Rockauto has good new bosch injectors but I think they have raised their prices up a few bux due to the recent Truck Stop onslought!

I avoid all the Ebay injectors like the plague.

I send my old tired factory units over to "Diesel Fuel Injection Service" in Portland.

Cost me about $268.00 for 8 units to be completely rebuilt, set to the pop pressure I wanted and all ready to go, complete with coppers.

The 40HP stuff is ??????????????????

If you want DFIS phone number I will post it.
Mark, the owner is a great guy and his staff know what they are doing.

They ship all over so you might consider them.

I have used these guys for over 20 years for diesel stuff.

I was willing to take the chance on the medallion injectors because accurate diesel is a fourm sponcer and advertizer[unlike walt]. Tim from accurate claims he hasn't had any problems or complaints about the medallions. I don't believe he would risk being bashed on here and other diesel fourms. I've got 2 sets of them and would not be quiet if I have problems. Time will tell. This is just another reminder to myself to get going on building a injector tester.

Just got new Bosch from RockAuto, it is approx less than $100 more than these ebay ones. There was a discount code posted here also that negates the shipping cost. Or if you know a rebuilder, that is good too.

Alas PFI is no longer what it once was, and inferior parts like Herzog injectors PFI sells these days are example of it, I need to find another local shop.

Yep, way too many people having problems with PENSACOLA DIESEL injectors in general. I haven't heard much good about ANY of there injectors lately other than they are cheap. Many members here ran them in there 6.5's only to have to send them back after a month due to fuel leakage. Theres a seller on EBAY that sells genuine GM units for a decent price, but HEATH does as well and offers support after the sale.

Is this the one your talking about?

these plus a install kit for about $20 is about $459 total. Bills are new bosch/W install kit sell for $589 Plus shipping. So new AC Delco or new Bosch with a $130 difference. Hmmm

This may seem like favortism but I need to pull the non site sponsor links, not to squash discussion just killing the hot links, Bill is a paid to be a sponsor here the others aren't not fair to advertise site sponsors competition for free so we need to respect that.

Your basic question at begining was anybody use them, I've never seen partsladi before, also says ac delco how do you know, are they true AC's or just look alike in a AC Delco box hmnnn ???

MGW said it best ebay injectors historically have been a pig in a poke you get what you pay for FWIW AC Delco not always best parts either anymore, if your injectors go bad will partsladi stand by them, I know Bill will, just a thought.

sorry for the links,, I just want the best info out there,,from my 6.5 bro's, and Missy too . I did get the info I wanted and more,, so thanx,,:smile5:
He did say 1 year unlimited mileage warranty on the delcos, But on the other hand some spouse's say they'll do things before their marriage, that never pan out either! ):h

So it is a crap shoot with anyone but Heath, either way it's a lot of money!
