Any experience about FullThrottle performance modules?

Let's think about this..

You'd be better off buying a Cetane booster and pouring it in your tank.

No offense, but I can't believe people actually consider the eBay scam "chips".

Q. My engine is Supercharged, or Carbuerated, will Full Throttle work for me?

A. Sorry, no. Our modules only work on Gasoline and Diesel engines.

What do supercharged and carburated ("Carbuerated?") engines burn?

Grade "A1" snake oil here...

"Improves Spark Plug Life-span"

Damn... I am sure the spark plugs on my 6.5 are worn out with 190K on the clock. But I can't find them to change them out!

So a new life for shot PMD's? Slap a MPG improver sticker on them with a couple of wires hanging out?

There are 100+ different people that sell these things on eBay. There is NO WAY they work. I've seen a picture posted of one box opened up and two wires are just twisted together. Now that's, Engineering!

This thing has been covered at least once every couple months. One member either here or from the place actually cracked one open and it was nothing more than a wire coming in going into a resistor and then going out.

Unfortunately... this thing does in fact actually work. But the "claims" put up on all of these are all fake. Its not going to give you +75hp or 75+ft/lbs of torque. And your sure as hell not going to gain +10MPG. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe for our diesels they are tapped into the MAP sensor, providing a false reading to the ECM and thus increasing fuel delivery by X amount. But we are talking an extremely small amount of fuel. You MIGHT see .5mpg increase if that. MAYBE even about 1hp extra.

Jeff is right, you are far better off using a cetane booster like Power Service to add some power. You will get more out of that than this joke. Defiantly speak with KOJO. Save the money and purchase a tune from him. THAT will give you 100% satisfaction, not something shady the Mechanic made in his basement with $7 in parts and a soldering iron he bought from sears.

Would have to see where they expect you to install this in order to achieve this. Normally these get put on IAT or CTS lines on cars to change timing because they will think the car is cooler than it is, and kick in some of that cold advance. So it can provide some performance gain and it could make it slightly more efficient, but nothing like the claims, not even close. Better to change the actual PCM program than to fool it.

This could also be added resistance on the PMD lines were the PMD resistor goes, which will increase fueling very slightly. If it went on the MAP it would not affect fueling, because our fuel injetion is not based on a MAP reading. Although it could increase boost by fooling the PCM into thinking there is less boost and it would increase the duty cycle to the boost solenoid for more boost and more performance.

Not all the chips on ebay are a scam, well at least mine aren't, and there are surely others :skep:

There are so many different models of these things on ebay its not even funny anymore. Like you said, some work, others are literally a total ripoff. Its just really irritating to have these people making crazy claims of 50% extra this and 80% extra that. Its really deceptive to people and ultimatly it winds up hurting those who are trying to sell something that really works.

Here is another one... With almost exactly the same "claims"

And Another...This one is hysterical. 200hp and 75MPG  And of course: "A: Yes, our performance modules work with both automatic and manual transmissions for faster shifting!" I had no idea that this engine performance module will allow for Manual transmissions to be shifted faster and that my C/1500 would be capable of 75MPG

:speechless: :hihi:

Once that value was learned it might make a slight change, this is where Steak Sauce has made his money with his variable rate controller from the unsuspecting 6.5er; where he claims instant fuel rate changed forgetting the PCM doesn't learn changes to PMD resistor instantly the value has to be "taught" to the PCM

Not to detract from the nonsensicalness of these products, but isnt the resistor value actually learned at every startup on OBD2 vehicles? And for OBD1 vehicles its every 50th startup or with a TDCO learn.

No it's not that is why Mr Steak Sauce don't like me so much I pulled my resistor and ran without it for almost a year just to prove his variable fuel controller is the POS it is.

The OBD-IIs run on the last stored resistor value until a TDCO learn is initiated where you then get a no start and a PMD resistor error code, and for OBD-I I believe but have never tested it personally since I have no OBD-Is in my stable it runs that way for X (50 ???) warm up cycles and if missing defaults to a # 5 value.
