I took the GM diesel plung too recently. I purchased a 99 K2500 Suburban with 255k miles on it. It has been well cared for and has only one upgrade; the Heath Diesel PDM relocation. I do however think the vac pump is dying. I put a guage on it and was only getting 9 instead of 15. The turbo is not acting as I think it should. Is the turbo wastegate the only thing the vac pump is for? Where is vaccuum coming from for the other systems such as brake booster and A/C controls?

Hate to hit you up with a question in my intro but I am already diving in!

The info here is great by the way.
Thanks.
Daniel

Hi Dan,

Welcome to the site, sounds like you have basics on your turbo issue, simple fix really, need to do some troubleshooting though, slip over into the 6.5 forum area, the TRL http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?13960-Sticky-6.2-and-6.5-Technical-Library is great place to begin your quest for 6.5 education/knowledge

Yes vac for turbo/WG control in the F vechicle, in S trucks turbo and EGR regulation is what vac is used for, brake power assist comes from power steering system hydraulics
