Well boys the Suncoast fun was shortlived. I had been hearing a rattling, clunking, grinding noise at idle that was intermittent but slowly got kinda worse.

I needed an alignment 1,200 miles ago so I took it to the dealer.

I gave them a whole list of things to look at because I didnt have the time.

1. Alignment
2. Front end feels loose
3. Something binds in front end at full clock
4. Slop In drivetrain
5. Check all pulleys as belt has been slipping of tensioner and shredded on saturday
6. The clunking, grinding noise coming from bellhousing.

Well for just shy of $100 they diagnosed my issues.

I need a new left front wheel bearing
And a flex plate.

So out comes the mighty ally again and I must say I am getting pretty good at this.

I will be putting a stock one back in as Banks just pushed back the release of theirs again due to some bugs.

While Im in there I am going to tear apart the t-case and install a pump rub kit. Its $50 i shouldve spent the first time it was out. Im also gonna check on the t case chain to see if it is stretched. If not I am going to check the slip yoke even though the dealer said it was good. If thats not the issue I have magical drivetrain slop coming out of thin air.

Also have to do the wheel bearing and Im too cheap to do both at once.

Torqueing that flex plate is gonna be fun. 58lbs then 60* then 60 more degrees. I gotta find a flywheel holding/locking tool too.

if its not one thing its another I guess. Im really mad at Banks now. I was hoping they wouldve had theirs out.

Sorry to hear that Vinny.

You'll be a Allison Pro pretty soon..:D

A few more times and you'll be having to replace the bolt holes too.:D:D:D

That sucks dude.

and the sad thing is that it will have to come out and be tore apart once again in the spring for some hard parts.

Im getting pretty good at this to say the least.

Now I just found out my buddies 04LB7 has a cooked tranny so I talked him into a SCIII and guess who gets to install that??

Then another one of my buddies 05 cracked a flex plate a took out the torque converter and he wants me to tear his ally apart to make sure everything is sound inside.

Plus to top it off the tranny in our 02 is on its last leg. I just changed the internal and external filters today but I think its on its way out.

I should almost quit my job.

Well Im about ready to take er out again.

Havent had time with the snow lately and my new tranny jack just showed up today.

I was using my buddies $2,000 3,000lb low pro semi tranny jack which meant laying on the ground when I have a lift.

So yesterday I called up his uncle who is a salesman for NAPA and sells at work and ordered a nice 2 stage 1,000lb one. a touch over $1,000 bucks. Thank god I get student discounts that brought it down to just over $600.

I needed the 2 stage to get the tranny low enough to the ground to slide it into my bench stand. Without it I wouldve had to lift the tranny off the jack and you just cant muscle an ally around.

Meant to work on it tonite but got side tracked. Hopefully tomorrow.

That's a nice deal.

Get the camera ready!

ya well I was just informed I will be picking up an 04 LB7 tomorrow from my one of my buddies who lives down the road so that I can install a stage III SC.

he had some guy look at it and the guy said he needed a new tranny which would be $4,200 I said ou dont need a new one bring it over.

Also still have my other buddies 05 sitting out in the weeds which I need to get to soon too.

And I have a clutch to put in another buddies S10 and a ring gear in an old F350 for a neighbor.

Looks like Ill be busy well into the new year.
