Paul really rolled up his sleeves and got into the picking on the '95 wreck:

All that to get an ash tray, though it was only used for coins. He wanted me to kiss his boo boo, but F that!:point:

We talked shop, drove my '99, went over the '94 and the '99 and talked shop into the dark of the night. Good guys and a wealth of 6.5 information.

Call me late to the Party! Have carpool guests delaying the trip on a detour. But they are covering diesel so I can't complain.

The visit was a bloody success. Just one more gash to finish out the week of head banging (if you look closely around the new cut, you can see the scabs from the cross over, torsion bar mount and transaxel of my truck).
Big T and his wife are two great people. Very welcoming and hospitable. We took his 99 Burb for a ride and dispite the steering wheel trying to fall off, the errant ground strap, the dogs behind the wheel (no, wait, that was the Green Chrome Camaro in Vegas) and the blood in my eyes from him hitting me with the antenna I was trying to sneak off with, it was good to get behind the wheel of an ATT equipped truck. Killing the mequitos in the Mercedes 500 SEL for a half mile with a California Sunset behind us was righteous. I think the driver was attached to those bugs though cause she followed us back to the house. Is :fing26: "hello" in Californees?

One thing about he and his wife though. Once your welcome is wore out, or if you bleed on their carpet, it's past time to be gone.

Be warned War Wagon....

Seriously, when someone tosses you the keys to their truck and say, "Put the spurs to 'er," that's a great, trusting person. Never ceases to amaze me what great people I've met since joining the 6.5 family.
Thanks for the talk, trust, the band-aids and for not telling anyone I asked you to kiss my boo boo.....

You've got a great truck, great family and with your can do attitude, you can accomplish anything with these trucks. I look forward to another visit and please know that you and your family are welcome anytime at our place when you come through Utah. Plenty of room on the vacant cul-de-sac to park the boats.

Great pic there Paul!! It's nice to put reality to the mental vision you conjure up through the internet.

When I looked at Paul's bloody hand and face, it was an obvious Face Palm:

I will note that my wife who's an experienced negotiator was able extricate the Sig Sauer from Paul's hands ("hey Paul, can I hold your Sig?") and then sent the boys on their way. Proving once again that beauty and brains will always defeat military Braun.

Paul most of the suggested corrections done:

Only exception was "tightening" the steering column. Those nuts up there on that top bracket are in as tight as they'll go. I must be missing washers or shims under the bracket.

For those trying to follow this. My steering column has about 1/2" of side to side play. You can see this movement is at the upper bracket where it attaches under the dash. There are two 15mm nuts on studs there to attach it, but they're installed as tight as they'll go and there's still the side to side movement.

Also, all that oil on the passenger side valve cover is from the CDR at the grommet.

My CDR grommet was letting oil past, a new one fixed it. What a mess it makes.

I pulled the grommet and CDR off the '95 where they were a tight fit. Installed them on the '99 and they're a loose fit and will undoubtedly leak.

We turned the dogs loose and the four dogs had so much fun one puked. Between the blood and dog puke they may need to get the carpet cleaned... :rolleyes5:
