Where is the temp sender located for the ambient external temp that shows on the rear view mirror for a 2001 Yukon 2500?

I was thinking that it is under the hood someplace.
I’ll be anxious to find out too.
I have often thought of installing one of those onto My truck but have just never braved the trip to the pull and pack.

You might get lucky enough to only have to change the mirror and add the sensor. Mine already had the correct wiring from the mirror to the steering column. I had to add the rest

Someday I’ll have to check it out.
Go to the pull apart, they are very helpful, personal friends, have them show Me where its all at. Then I’ll pull it all out and charge them for My labor. 😹😹😹
