alternator pulley

Good Find......I know where I'll be getting my next alt from.

Has anybody ever seen that CS-144 alternator in a 6.5 diesel application?

Even if it's not their HD/modified form, it would look to be an upgrade from our stock alternators & there are a lot of them out there from GM's widespread use.

I love that CS-144, I am not sure how it fits from the thickness viewpoint?

Does not mean to hijack the thread.

I was just on here looking for a source of the pulley. I actually have a CS-144 that I am putting on, but need the right pulley, its way too small.

The alternator in the truck also has wrong pulley size. The modified CS-144 that I bought doesnt fit right in my truck though, I think its for the later model trucks. The top bolt has a longer, like 2.5" bolt shaft with no threads, whereas my alternator has just about an inch thick threading for the bolt. I have found a way to make it mount, and the belt lines up and it worked fine except read about 1000rpm too high. And I will need 1/2 to 1" longer belt for it because it is bigger.

I see on their site that the 96+ GM vehicles have the 2" two foot mounts, whereas I have one foot and one ear. I told them the vehicle was a 94, and I even sent them a few emails complaining it didnt fit right, and those bastards didnt help a bit. I think it was that alternatorparts company, so just know which housing you need when you order. I bought it a couple years ago. The bracket behind the alternator didnt fit anymore either, I havent had it on for over a year.

Buddy, a member THEFERMENATOR puts it in his 95 before it was converted to the Dmax. He has to shear the back bracket and weld a piece to go to the bolt on the back. Yes, it is thicker than the CS130. He gave me a link to a picture in the DP forum.

94 and 95 have the same bracket for the alternator.

I had my local dealership run my VIN and he gave me the dimensions that were on mine from the factory. I measured a couple I had and put the one on that was a match to the OEM diameter.
