On the FordRangerForum there was someone that had found that 56 Bel Air air shocks fit up front in place of the stock shock absorbers, and he puts 100psi in them to keep the front of his truck level with his bars cranked and a heavy front bumper on his truck.

Have you guys heard of using air shocks to assist the t-bars? For such a light truck, is this such a bad idea?

Just wanted your thoughts..

Two examples:

I know one owner of an Exploder that had air shocks (and not standard shocks) as OE. The air shocks were removed, standard shocks retrofitted, and he simply ignores the idiot light about the air system not working.

Had a mid 80's Caddy with air shocks in the rear and absolutely hated them. The greater the load in the rear (including just passengers), the harsher the ride. If it was just me or a second passenger in the front seats, it was Ok.
