Air filter box question...

I'm not asking about any particular air filter box... What I would like to know is: Does the turbo create negative pressure in the box? Or is there enough air pressure to supply without a problem?

The turbo produces a vacuum in the box, if that's what you mean by negative pressure. It varies with rpm.

A naturally aspirated 6.5/6.2 does the same thing, just less of it at higher rpm.

What did you have in mind?

Well, I was wondering about T'ing off the air box to a tray under a top engine mounted intercooler that would flow from the fender, into the air box, through the tray and out either vents in the hood or maybe out the cowl on the hood assuming the cowl would work that way.

If I understand that right, you're correct. It won't work.

You'd be drawing air in over the intercooler but sucking in heated air.

Best case scenario they'd cancel out, worst case, the incoming air would be hotter than ambient...
