Not sure this is the right forum for this question but here goes...

1990 Chevy Pickup with 5.7 liter V8. Air conditioning system has no pressure and I just want to get rid of it. Are there any tricks to removing the AC stuff. Can I just replace the compressor with an idler pully and then remove all the hoses and accumulator? It looks like the condenser is integral with the radiator. Can I just take those hoses off?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

The AC compressor is an idler pulley when it is off. You can remove the hoses and condenser and leave the compressor in place. Or you can leave it all in place and sealed so the next owner will have something to start with for AC should they want it. Adds a little resale value anyway. Condenser removal will help engine cooling.

This is what I was thinking, too
