Ok Heres my latest,, I kick the A/C on and it works fine,,, then I pull up to a drive thru or let it set in the driveway while I run in for a few mins, and within 2 minutes or so,, the compressor kicks off, and it starts to blow warm. Some times If I just turn the system off and back on, it will get cold again, and sometimes, it will not come back!??! It did this a few times awhile back, and I unpluged the High side sensor at the accumulator, (Silver can on the firewall,) and the compressor reengaged. So am I looking at a failed High side sensor, or something else?

That silver can is the reciever/dryer and that's the low side. That is the cycling switch for the compressor and it fails often. Just get a new one, they are cheap. It unscrews without having to discharge the a/c system.

It's possible you have a low charge. If the charge is low, then the sensor will disengage the compressor to avoid damage to the system.

use a test light and figure out where current it stopping during outage. I have seen bad clutch magnets do the same thing. I would probe it to see exactly what it is and put gauges on it and make sure pressures are within reason.

sweet,, You guys are the best. I will check the pressures in the morning,, It does blow really cold, like it has no problems at all. when its working.

Also, I thought that if I removed this switch, that I would have to recharge the system,
I check and the part is less that $30 bucks.

If the pressure checks out,, I'll by pass that switch, and if she works,, Off to the Zone, I go for a part!

thanx again fella's

There is a schrader valve (Like a tire valve stem insert) in the accumulator and as you unscrew the low side switch the valve seals.

Just be sure a wrap a rag around the thing as I have seen times when some Fool left the valve out and then charged the system.

Makes for some excitement when you pop the switch off the can.

At that point you just RUN and let it do its thing.
