Air bag contact switches

Does anyone have any helpful information in regards to replacing the air bag contacts in the steering column? Our 03' has the odd binding noise when turning which was diagnosed by the dealer as a rubbing contact switch. With over 300k miles things are bound to wear out. Does anyone have any helpfull info or links as to removing the wheel/dissableing the air bag/changing this contact?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
