Hey guys, finnaly moved over here from the "place" and ive already got a question for ya.

I just purchased a used 98 airbox setup with the high capacity (K47) option. Now im having trouble finding a good aftermarket filter to jam in there. I had my heart set on a Airaid but im not seeing that they make one.

What do you guys recomend?? I would really like an oil-less filter (no K&N) that would take advantage of the high capacity box. Thanks for the ideas, Nick.

I have used the K&N, amsoil and I never seen any advantage to using them. I don't like the oiling so I went back to stock.
I run the a/c delco witht he extra wrap over the filter as I tend to be int he dirt a lot with my truck.
Heaths cold air sounds promising as I thinkt that would help with the intake temps on the road, any time frame on it?

Im not sure how that is better than stock, which is probably why it hasnt been released yet. Would still be great for us rectangle filter box guys though.

Looks like it has a scoop on the hood side of things? Or is that a clear top? The smooth bends and no ruffled rubber boot is gone too. Who knows what BT showed us. ... Probably not it :)

Yeah I gotta agree wih you on that. It looks to me like it's still pulling air the way my stock one does with just a fancier filter. Am I missing something
some sort of pipe right out to the front grille would be better no?

I was kinda thinknig the same, HOWEVER, seeing how it smooths out and widens EVERY part from turbo to fender, I think it will make a large difference, especially for the older units. LIke i said in another post, just changing the smashed factory form elbow to a true 3" elbow straightenend out the path and the rubber rippled boot.

We all know that ripples create airflow turbulance, and that rubber boot hangin off our turbos are no different.

But for all that fab work just to lead off to the same place as before.... we'll see what the final product, and price is.
