vacuum lines at the solonoid thanks to crankme. I checked the codes and got 29 and 31. I then cleared the codes ran it again and rechecked. The 31 (to much vacuum) went away but I´m still getting 29 (glow plug relay fault). It starts in the morning so I´m assuming the glow plugs are working. It´s not the fastest starting truck. Any Ideas? The PO replaced the 5 glow plugs he could get at with ac 60gs so I don´t know the condition of the other 3. This is a 1995 chevy sub 2500 4x4. Thanks for any help. g

No I don´t hear a click and after the glow plug light in the dash goes out it never recycles but I don´t know if it should. I don´t have any tools with me. I´m on vacation and found this truck. I just want to get her home (9hrs away) with as few probs as possible. Thanks for the come back.

Ya I´m not to worried. Its just this is a heck of alot different than my ole 6.2. I hate the unknown. But thanks to you guys I think I can deal. Plus I´m electronically retarded wich is probably a bad thing with this rig.

Glad to see you made it over here. If this is for a 95, the glow plug light works off of the actual output from the realy. So if the glow plug relay failed, then you would get no glowp lug light. There may be a problem with the sense circuit portion of the relay though causing the issue. And as for the code 31, soundsl ie you've got an ECM problem. A 95 BURB should have an F engine in it which doesn't have an EGR valve, so there should never be a code 31 out of it.

Thanks thefermanator. The 31 code was due to me reversing the vacuum lines at the wastegate solonoid. Its gone now after switching the lines. Its definetly a NON egr motor but I got a 31. The glow plug relay is a different story.
