I just put new heads on my 94 3500. The serpentine belt that was on showed quite a bit of wear and was stretched so the tensioner was maxed out. Some of the pulleys also showed wear to one side. The ac pulley is sitting about a half inch to the front compared to the rest of the pulleys. The vacuum pulley is a little back. The tensioner, alternator, power steering, water pump and harmonic balancer all line up nicely. Do i have to shim the bottom of the cast iron mounting piece to bring them into alignment? Or do i need a new tensioner pulley with no wear on it. As it is the new belt will jump off almost immediately. The old stretched out belt will run but squeals. Thank you for any help.

Did it have the issue before the head r&r? What heads did you go with? No shims should be needed.

I only had the truck for about a month before doing the head r&r so not sure as to how bad it was. Judging by the belt and pulley wear marks it was doing it before. I used the cheap heads from ss diesel. The bracket mounts very nice and flush with the head and block.

Sorry not sure on how to upload pictures. Upon further looking tonight I think I have a bad tensioner. It has some front to back play and seems to be the cause of the belt coming off. I will get a new one on tomorrow and let you know. Thanks for the help so far.
