Well I got the good truck out for a drive, first drive since I parked it in the fall. Last fall everything worked perfect.

It goes into first and shifts to second fine but no 3rd. I get codes 59 and 73.

DTC 59 - Transmission Fluid Temp Circuit High

DTC 73 - Pressure Control Solenoid Circuit (Current Error)

Any ideas? I got the battery cables off now to clear the codes. This stuff is getting annoying.

Yes, those are transmission code as indicated by no 3rd gear.

There is a Transmission Fluid Temp sensor and Pressure Control Solenoid that are faulty or the cables may be faulty.

Check all the cables to/from the transmission first. I am not sure where these parts are located. You may want to consult transmission shop for diagnosis.

I have a manual on a CD for these transmissions. Its not any help in finding the problem but does show the parts and how to check them.

Would these part go bad sitting all winter? It probably sat 5 months.

Any chance the cables got eaten by mice? or just grounds connectors got rusted?

Electronics (sensor or solenoid) also have a chance to go bad if not used like corrosion or bad contacts.

Do the diagnosis as suggested by your CD and see what needs to be changed or at least knows if the circuit is good.
Sometimes, take it off, clean it and put it back on can help also to remove contact's oxidation.

It rained all day today so I didnt get a chance to play with it. Tomorrow Ill go and clean the harness connector. Ill go read on the CD about how to check the pressure control solenoid and the temp sensor. Isnt the temp sensor the sensor on the radiator?

Well I got a break in the weather. It looked like the plug was oily. I sprayed some contact cleaner in it and it shifts now. I hauledass and it seems to be working good but when I got home I checked for codes and get DTC 85 - Transmission Gear. Anyone know what causes that?
