Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house..
Not a 6.xx was running... boy what a louse...
Burb broke a fitting...Oh what a sight
I tried to remove it with all of my might..
But I felt a large snap, the fitting broke flush
What do I do... in my Christmas eve rush
Then off to the Autoparts, was I to head....But my CUCV Battery was compltely dead.
I bragged about the batt just the other day...Now hear I sit in utter dismay.

I got out the charger and gave it some juice..but now the Plows stuck...
Where is my Noose.
I get the plow up and ready to go...but the windshiled is white, covered with snow.
I turn on the wipers and what did I find, the right side ones broke ....now what a bind..

I start to get mad and look to the sky..I say "Oh Lord, Please tell me why ??"
Then I remembered, what Father David said........"The Lord's here to help, just bow your head".

So I prayed to the Lord ...a quick little prayer...
"Oh please Lord help me to find my way there"

So at the Autoparts store...what did I see ??
A super big Easyout...the tool I did need.
I thought ......"no way will this work"...
But God's hand with mine........ provided the torque.
Out the piece came, I could not believe...
My faith in the Lord saved me........ on Christmas eve...

Merry Christmas and Amen!!!

The pics...BTW I decided not to use the quick connect becuase the cheap chinese made junk one had a much smaller hole than the factory one. I used a standard fitting from a 6.2 with some hose and clamps. What are the chances that a chain auto parts store had an easy out big enough for a 1/2" NPT fiiting in stock on Christmas eve ? The hardware store didn't even have them.

Sounds like the usual crap to deal with, sorry to hear of the trouble but glad to find you got it fixed(at least the coolant connector) good luck with the wiper! and hope all gets better MERRY CHRISTMAS fella!

and LOVE the little poem you made of it.

Yeah, the poem was a reminder that this stuff is trivial. Oil cooler lines are leaking pretty badly as well. Guess what I'm doing this week. I still can't believe that fitting came out. I used a half inch breaker bar on that tap with a pipe extension on that. It should have either stripped the easy out or snapped off. And on the truck no less.

You're a riot Kenny! That was funny from line one. :)

Glad it worked out for you.

Did the old fitting start leaking? What made you tamper with it?

It was "wet" around it and the plastic retainer was deteriorated. I was tempted to leave it be but since we were supposed to be headed to NY today with the truck I was nervous about it and figured if it broke on the road, I'd be screwed. was right. It was so thin I barely touched it and it broke off. Unfortunatley my son is sick in bed so the plans got cancelled anyway...I will miss my IN Laws...:rof:
As far as the Poem, I was just sitting here last night up with my sick son so I thought of it then. He's doing a little better.

Mine was blowing coolant out from the threads, so I tried to get it out. snapped off and now am trying to get it threaded. there is no room in there to work.

I have a 1/2 npt tap, but no drill bit. Argh!

Think I can use progressively bigger taps to get to where I can get the 1/2" in there, or should I just wait to get the uhh... 45/64ths bit?

Oh yeah, dumping snow and the wife got called in to work. yee haw.

I used a Hanson easy out and was able to get it out without removing the housing. See my pics. There is enough room. PM me if you need step by step.

At Chefmikes request here is what I used. I was able to get it out without removing the housing from the truck and I leaned on it pretty hard. BTW The Hanson ez out is made in USA. It is EX6 as far as I can tell. My eyes aren't so good. Came in a kit with a 13-32 drill which I did not need to use.

cooler lines on what are leaking? If it's the CUCV i've got a full set of OEM lines(both parts) here that look like they never had any leaks. If they'll help you, take them as a late Christmas present.

Thanks, but no the 98 Burb. I may order a set of aftermarkets or build my own. I can get the hoses and fittings but it depends on if the Old lines come loose from the Oil cooler. If the don't then a kit from a Vendor is more cost effective. if they do I can build new lines myself cheaper.

I've got a stock oil cooler here somewheres with the lines already removed, if you want to go that route and can't get your to come apart. I think the threads are fine, but honestly i haven't looked them over. Came from a 97 burb.

I was planning on using it and build custom cooler lines for the blazer and basically delete the in rad oil cooler, but with the huge 4 core rad i've got in my shed i think it'll be able to keep the oil cool once i put the Banks kit on.

There was a post over on the other site on how to convert the stock cooler to work with custom lines by using some form of AN conversion fitting i believe. I can't remember the fitting sizes but i'll see if i can find it.

Afew guys did that.....I "think" Leo (NVW) made his own.

That was just for oil customers. Circumstances beyond my control forced me out of business. You can leave a message if you want. Everyone is home sick today and I'm gettin it too.
