I have a 95 3500 and I was told when I bought it used that it had a 99 motor.
It does have dual thermostats so I am assuming it really is a 99. Anyway I have never had the check engine light come on but if it does can I do the paper clip jumper trick or do I need to use an OBD2 tester?

good question. I know someone else w/ more knowledge then me will probably debunk to confirm what I will say. If you reuse the 95 pcm and wiring it will be obd1. If you use a 99 pcm w/ wiring it will be obd2.

I would think it would still be OBD 1 regardless of what year block
