I have a 98 gmc with a 6.5 in it. It will not start i have changed the filter and bled the system i have fuel coming from the lift pump but nothing coming out of injector lines. The pmd has been changed before i got this truck can it stop the fuel from ip? How can i be sure the ip is bad? I would like to be pretty certain its bad before i go to the trouble of changing it. I am pretty proficient with gas motors and am trying to learn diesels any help would be much appreciated

If you have fuel at the T drain but not to the injectors make sure the fuse for the fuel shut off sol. is good and the spades on the fuse are clean. Also make sure the ECM fuse and it's spades are good and making contact.

A good PMD is the only way to check if it is OK.

Check all the fuses, or fill out the checklist, need to know things like are the glow plugs coming on, is the SES light on the ignition on? Where is the PMD located? Did you make sure the Optical Sensor (OS) connector on top of the IP was secure. Try unplugging the OS and cranking. Try unplugging the Crank Position Sensor (CPS) and cranking. What does the cranking sound like, is it cranking fast or slow, does it sound like its not even trying to fire up or like it is, or any smoke out the exhaust?

x2, PMD has been changed, does not mean a thing. Especially if it is still under the hood.

So it is always strong suspect when there is no fuel at the injector.

How is your fuel filter? Don't say, it has been changed recently. One bad batch of fuel can clogged it in a second.
