I have had 3 6.5 duallys and they all never have working 4 way flashers. I had a thread about this before and never figured much out..

My main question, I guess, is there only one flasher unit for the turn singles and 4 ways or are there 2 different ones? I changed the one under the dash still dont work. Turn them on and nothing, put your foot on the brake and the front turns go on solid. but no flash with your foot off the brake. all bulbs work. ANY IDEAS?

If I am not mistaken, most older trucks do this. 4 ways work great till you touch the brakes. Then the brakes take over till you let off them.

So pretty much the brakes are in charge.

I beleive we only have one flasher on our trucks. It is under the dash. The best way to find it is to turn on the signal and follow the click noise.

I know that they will go on soild when you hit the brakes, however mine dont flash or click or do anything when your not touching the brakes. I wish I was smarter, i would re wire it so they would flash and over ride the brake lights. sucks when your stoping in traffic to back a trailer in and people just think your stoping.

X2....i dont know who was in charge of the hazard light design, but they should be shot. Got to be one of the most annoying things about these trucks.

Deere....do your lights come on at all with the switch?? and just dont flash??

Ive had to replace quite a few of the switches mounted on the column. They never seem to last. Does the switch feel like it is working correctly? Sometimes they can be depressed, but wont come back far enough to active the hazards

turn the switch on and nothing happens. nothing. only way you can tell the switch does anything is when you hit the brake everything comes on. never any flash though. like i said all 3 6.5s ive had have been like this, im sick of it

Check out the fuse/relay center under the dash to the left of the brake pedal....see if all yhe connections/plugs/relays are ok.

Also the flashers work off the turn signal switch......you could also try to play with the hazzard switch (top of column) that turns them on and off, sometimes it just doesn't make a good contact, after years of dirt and grime finding its way in there.

Not sure about 94, but I know my 95 has 2 different flashers. There is one over underneath the ashtray buried under the dash for the turn signals, and then one in the convenience center down by the brake pedal for the hazard flashers.

WOW!!! I think ill just carry flares and triangles for when i brake down:eek::eek:

thank you guys :)

I say convert to 94- style column. Do a real fix. Not replace a very badly designed steering column. The older style columns had very few problems, and if they did the new switches didn't require you take out a second mortgage to buy.The ignition switches are priced out of this world also.

Wow , I thought I was the only one with that problem.. Same thing here , Sometimes they work sometimes they don't but they definitely stay solid when i step on the brakes..
