Hello I'm new here and this is my first post. I have a 1980 k30 that I have put a 6.5 turbo diesel out of a 96 or 97 k3500 dump body. The k3500 had a 4l80e in it however I put an nv4500 in my k30. The issue I have now is when I bought the motor the guy have me the entire wiring harness from the truck and I mean everything right down to the a controls, but I wanted to simplify the wiring so I got rid of everything I didn't need and in the process disconnected the obd2 connector and can't figure out where the connections for it are now I've tried looking all over the internet for schematics for these trucks but nothing I've found matches. There was a thread on here that had some diagrams however they didn't match my wording at all. My ecu part number is 16216588 I have one blue 32 pin connector one 24 pin brown and one 32 pin brown. Also another reason I'm looking for the wiring diagrams is because I have an issue with the truck randomly shutting off on me most of the time while going down the road but I can't even check codes right now. Thank you in advance for any and all help!

Welcome to TTS!

Question: Rather than mess with the ECM, why not install a mechanical injection pump?

Point is that the computer is going to look for a bunch of inputs (coolant temp, speed, etc) that you will need to add to the K30. And seeing as you have a manual transmission, personally I'd keep the system as basic as possible rather than add the complexity of a computer.

Welcome To the site! I'm no help on he harness hopefully someone here can be if you stick with it.

I was half way through reading your post and had the same thought Jay did. Only problem with a db2 is you forget to work on it because there is nothing to fix on it. The ONLY reason the ds4 ip was invented was smog laws for compliance.

Put some pics up as you go if you get the chance.
