i like offroading and realized that whenever you dont bring a certain tool or weak component, thats when you need it so i usually bring my tools/equipment with me and just leave them in the yukon. well its cargo space, compared to the k5 blazer i had, sucks for that amount of stuff. there is a fair amount of room behind the interior panels in the cargo area, so i decided to utilize it.

no pictures of the shelves yet although they're mostly complete. 12" long and 6" wide, 9" tall of cargo space down there. looks like i can get the wrenches, screw drivers, pliers/vice grips and maybe a few other things in that spot without removing any more. will hopefully make the cover panel/door next weekend so it blends in

not really planning on it. if somebody decides to buy it i wont sell it until i've finished the storage setup but that wont take long.

Are you planning to re-mount the piece of the panel you cut out with some sort of quick release? It seems that your shelves stick out too far to cover them up....

Why is your spare on the floor, do you still have the bracket to hold it vertically on the driver side? I found I could pack a ton of stuff (mostly soft stuff) behind the spare when it is stored vertically.

going to custom make the interior panel, extend it out to the width/hight of the wheel well. thinking about using some push/pull latches like cabinet doors use, you know the ones with the 2 rollers that a pin goes through? that setup. yes the shelves stick out further than the original panel, roughly 2". shelves will not be cockeyed as they are in the last pic, going to get the brackets i want tomorrow so i can mount it level and secure. dont want the tools bouncing around and makin alot of noise.

spare is on the floor right now because i've been moving alot of stuff back there, toying around with storage ideas that would not require modifying the interior, but no such luck. spare will end up on a swing out carrier off the rear bumper, just need to make it 1st which wont happen for awhile because i dont have access to metal working equipment right now.

any other ideas on what i can do or put back there? since i dont have the stock jack i'm thinking about doing the same thing on the other side for the fluids/other gear.
