My truck is takin forever for the converter to lock up. Prolly taking it a good 7-8 miles jus started the other night. If it sits even for a few hours it takes that long regardless of how hot or cold outside. Used to it would take bout 2 or 3 miles in the morning when it was cold but thats it.

whats idle like? a little higher than norm. your coolant temp switch maybe going out, as mentioned. I would ohm it when cold and when hot to verify its correct. I have had 2 go out, when it does-no OD, and higher idle.

I agree with the CTS diagnosis. Until it shows your truck as warming up, your lockup just isn't there. You can jump it with a paperclip (temporarily) or a resister when it's cold and try that... if you get easy start and tranny lockup, you found the little carmint.
