New here. Just got the truck 2 weeks ago, was an abused farm truck.

1995 K2500, single cab long bed, VIN F, 200k miles.
only mods done are, intake, exhaust, and manual wastegate controller.

so heres the problem summed up, ran great, lift pump died, replaced the lift pump, it through a code, got it home and shut it off, went to start it back up, fired right up, then sputtered 3 times in a row and died, went to restart, no start. let it sit for a few hours, started right up did the same thing, if i kept the RPM's up it ran, as soon as it dropped not 10 seconds later it will die. lift pump is working, have not been able to check the code because i dont want it to die at an inersection. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Justin

Check code with paperclip and count flashes.

Sounds like you may not have purged the air from the filter after replacing the lift pump. Lift pumps can air lock if the tank sock is plugged or you have a kinked hose.

Well i have purged it a couple of times, i swapped the PMD out with a buddy of mines and it does the same thing, so its not PMD, today when i went to crank it up it started, but was blowing a lot of blue smoke, and every time i hit the throttle even a little bit it would bog down. i was thinking possible CPS? (crank position sensor)?

Thanks, Justin

put a clear piece of tubing on the IP return line and look for air bubbles while it is running. could also have a bad rubber line sucking air

Alright thank you, i will do that tommorow. Now an update, i pulled the cylinder #1 injector just cause i was curious, i know when i got the truck the turbo wastegate was wired wide open, creating little to no boost. so when i pulled the injector, in the nozzle of the poppet there was a nipple starting to form, as well as the injector being black and the nozzle starting to almost egg shape. could the cause of my problem just happen to be really bad injectors?

Thanks, Justin

a buddy of mine is upgrading his injectors, hes giving me the old ones, True Marine injectors from SSdiesel supply, they have 3k miles on em. i would think they would be good. none of them are burnt and all have been pop tested.
