I have a question about my accessory set-up and the belt needed. I asked in my build thread but I am not getting enough hits, so I am asking here. This is a '94 serp setup on my '89 6.2L burb. I am using the cam driven vac pump.

Here is my set-up;

Does this look correct?

What size belt do I need? Part number?

Looks good, probably need a 101" belt, I would go with the green ones at Napa, just get any quality thick one, not the cheapest kind, just compare brands at the parts store. Thats what I used on my 94 when deleting the vac pump, but I had an actual AC compressor there. I would buy a few different lengths then return the ones that dont work.

The ones at Napa I recall were labeled like K1010 which would be 101.0", or K1015 for 101.5" or K995 for 99.5", but alls you have to do is ask for the length you want, its a 6 groove belt

Is the a/c delete pulley the same size as the regular a/c pulley would be? It appears to be smaller. Without a vac pump I believe they use the 99.5 belt. I'd get rid of the old belt tensioner. They can destroy all of the belt driven accessories if they are worn. They will slightly bind and overtension . The alt is the 1st to go then the water pump[guess how I know]. I use the dayco no-slack tensioners from rockauto. Around $35

If the AC delete pulley is smaller than you will need slight smaller. However, the guys use the 99.5" belt for vac pump delete are the 96 or 97+ with the alternator, tensioner and AC compressor locations flipped.

I will check the AC delete pulley size. I have the correct compressor. I also have concerns about the tensioner. I have a line on a slightly used one for $20 shipped, but think I may just go with a new one.

The Dayco tensioner is a slightly different design from oem and most others. MADE IN USA!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::WTF: Another thing to check is the pulley size on the alternater. The diesel pulley size is 2 5/8" measured on the outer lipof the pulley. A gasser alt pulley is 2 1/4-2 3/8" . The wrong pulley will throw the tensioner out of working range:mad2:

I went ahead and ordered a new dayco tensioner from amazon for $33 w/ free shipping. Will measure pulleys when I get home.
