94 6.5 diesel injection timing help !!!!@

called my dealer buddies today to have them time my injection pump on my 94 3500 crew cab that i just put togather.... real familiar with the 6.5 's so i knew that they had to be timed with a tech 2........this is an obd 1 setup.....what do i do ?????

all the research ive done is the snap on scanner wont time it... just read it .... please help !!! this truck needed to be on the road yesterday....

A dealer Tech1 is good to do the timing relearn,for tech2 they need to have the OBD1 add on module.

Whats the issue, that the dealer didn't have what they would need, or that you dont want to take it to them? Or that you would like to do it yourself?

The snap-on scanners can perform it with the right module, but dont read it right, so you have to know what they are using for their data conversion to interpret what the actual TDCO value is.

I have found that if you enter the trucks year as a 2000 with the snap on mt2500,that the TDCO value is in line with other scanners(carcode instructions specify this no matter the year of truck)-at least on the OBD2 trucks.
That is of no help to the OP though.

When I was getting ready to time my rig, I called the dealer and was told that they would charge me $350 to do it. GMTDScan Tech with the ALDL was only $244, so it was a no brainer IMO.
