Ijust noticed my fuel mileage has been getting lower and lower, truck is still running good no noticeable problems just cant figure out what the deal is? I'am down to about 8 mpg from 12. anybody got any ideas, thanks

How old are the injectors? Did you fuel up at a different station?

Fan locked up, brakes dragging, 4x4 not unlocking, fuel leak...

Checked fan, 4wd, I do smell fuel but I see none.just did a service so its a new fuel filter and the lift pump is workin good. The injectors are from us diesel parts.

If you smell fuel its probably leaking at FFM or hoses to IP, and evaporating on hot engine. Check all hoses, clamps and seals on the FFM and the IP inlet. May need new O-rings for FFM, or maybe you didnt get the filter seated correctly. The filters that have their own plastic nut are also known to not make good seal.

You could also have some return lines come off.

yeah iam gonna try to dig around a little deeper this weekend and check all the lines. is there a rough number on timing chain life?

About the first revolution the timing chain stretches... :D
Seriously any time you open it up that far you wind up changing it. My last chain had 30K on it. Was tight when I got the engine and was sloppy when I pulled the engine for other reasons.

The fuel return lines, high pressure lines, or injectors can leak and drip on the manifold. This will evaporate off. Start the engine and then shut off after a min and look with a flashlight for any damp areas. The plug on the #8 injector was leaking on mine long ago and got replaced with a hose section and a mixture adjustment screw for a lawnmower... :rolleyes5:
