I am here
Hi guys new to the site. I have an '87 witha '90's motor. The mech who put the motor in for me hadn't seen the CDR on the valve cover before so he used the original CDR and position and then put a broom handle in the other one. I want to change CDr but I can only get the sideways one. I swithched them around and had problems getting the stem of the '90's CDR through the mounting plate enough to get a good connection. If I put it on the valve cover the hard lines aren't in the right place.

Question- Any way to extend that stem a bit
-what would I ue for soft lines from the intake to valve cover mounted unit

Pics please.

If you want the 88+ CDR setup, you gotta buy it all. The intake manifold, the valve cover, the CDR valve and the connector hose between the CDR and the intake manifold.

IMHO, the 82-87 Style CDR did a better job (unless rigged), the 6.5 don't care if it's in a 6.2 truck, cause it's basically a 6.2 at that point, no difference.

Yeah I already have the 88+ valve cover. Unfortunatley I can't find a pre 88 CDR, they are all sideways mounted. My intake tho is from the '87. What I think I'll do is take the splitter thing off the '87 CDR, put it on the new 6.5 CDR and run soft lines to the intake.

Ok but as to my original post. can't get original style '82-'87 style CDR. I can get '88+ CDR. If I mount it in the '87- style the lines to the intake won't fit. I have the hole in the valve cover so it's easier to mount there but the hard lines won't reach. So soft lines to '88+. What can I use. Napa had something but it cost $8/ft plus the $100 that the CDR cost and I'm looking at $150 to replace stupid CDR. Just looking for how someone that's mounted the '90's style CDr in place of 80's style or what type of soft lines to use.

I have one older CDR complete system if you still need one.

I've got a few full 6.2 style CDR systems laying around. CDR's will need to be replaced, and everything cleaned but they are intact. Even have a few brackets that hold the CDR and top alt bolt somewheres.

X2......GMCTD approved......returns vapors/oil to the oil fill tube, correct?

Not exactly. The CDR picks up the vapors from the fill tube, instead of the valve cover and dumps out into the intake on a N/A model. There's a little baffle in the oil filler that prevents liquid oil from getting in it. The valve cover system has lots of oil flinging around due to the rockers moving about.
