my 700r4 locks up as soon as it shifts to second and stays locked unless i floor it. it originally has the 1 single wire pressure swithc for 4th gear lockup and i changed that to a 2 wire pressure switch and used the harness from my other trans it still only has the 1 pressure switch for 4th lockup and its locking in 2nd and staying locked in all the gears. oh and its not going into 4th at all. its not even trying.

His problem sounds like a TCC solenoid stuck on. The converter lockup valve is set up so it cannot lock in 1st, but once you shift into 2nd it will lockup if the solenoid is stuck on.

Haha I read 'locked up' literally.. Not with TCC in mind. Then I thought wrong length VB bolts but that's 4L60E.

So yeah...

Been on of those days.

Your TCC "ON" in second, thrid, & forth can be a pressure switch grounding the electrical path. Another common failure is the TCC Valve in the PUMP, under the TCC Solenoid stuck in the applied position.
The solenoid failed is less likely but still possible.
I would do this: Get the trans in 3rd gear with TCC On, and depress the brake pedal to change the TCC switch state. If TCC Still stays ON, I would stop the truck in a quite area, turn the Ign key to RUN with enine off, lean down to hear the trans and depress the brake pedal to change the TCC Brake Sw again. You should hear NO CLICK. If you do, I would suspect something grounding the Sol ground path. A failed pressure switch inside or an EXTERNAL source grounding the sol.
I do not know your model year so the TCC Brake Sw will work in most years and if this is a 700 and the vehicle has NO ECM/PCM the ground is internal to the sol. Just a few things I would suggest to you.
