Anyone have a set or one of the 7 or 10 degree reamers? Working on a GMT800 brake upgrade.
For sale, loan, rent?
Thanks

Yeah I’ve got the reamers. As Diesel Amateur noted, reaming the lower portion of the knuckle is the most difficult as you must enter from the inside. This eliminates using a drill press. I ended up using an angle drill. I would consider renting the reams, but shipping would probably kill the savings.tagging @n8in8or and @Big T as I think they own the reamers in question
If this is for your '95 that likely has the stamped steel LCAs, I'd recommend swapping them out to the GMT800 LCAs. The turning radius is better with the forged GMT400 lowers or GMT800 LCAs, but the advantage of swapping to the 800 is you don't have to ream out the lower portion of the 800 knuckle which is a lot trickier to do than just the upper.
My issue is I’m watching existing knuckles, as I may have reamed them too deep. I had the passenger side tie rod loosen in the knuckle, despite have a cotter pin in the castled nut. I torqued that down with the Rigid cordless torque and it seems to no longer be an issue. I need to check the ball joint on that side. I can’t rule out having to redo the ream job on another set of knuckles, thus my reluctance to sell the teams at some cheap used price.I have 800 LCA blasted and powder coated to go on. Been a slow side project as I have to many irons in the fire. I was going to do the cheap import be figured I would reach if anyone was wanting to part with theirs.
Totally understand that. I read a number of people had issues when reaming. I will probably just buy new also. I may do the same up grade to the 98 as well.My issue is I’m watching existing knuckles, as I may have reamed them too deep. Send me your address in a DM. I’ll try to get them mailed tomorrow.Totally understand that. I read a number of people had issues when reaming. I will probably just buy new also. I may do the same up grade to the 98 as well.
I wonder if that applies to My 2000 K3500 that is still the GMT400 series.I think if you get 99-00 knuckles you don't need to ream them the gmt400 tie rods fit.
