6 cylinder commercial duramax

there is a towing company in my local area which has 2 commercial duramax flatbeds. yes they have plenty of power and the owner loves them but can't or does not want to leave well enough alone. he used to have a duramax 2500hd and traded it for a 6 liter and is now wishing he never traded it. has anyone out there tuned one with efi live or anything else? he asked me last time i saw him if i had heard of one being tuned, he knows i have efi live he never rode in my truck but heard about it. i have never looked into it, remember reading about them in dieselpower mag but know nothing more about them. i told him i would look around, any input would be appreciated. he is not concerned about a warranty he purchased the truck from a dealership that is going out of business and got it for a steal. thanks

I am not 100% positive, but I thought the 6 cyl. (7.8L) dmax is a totally different beast all together. It's an inline 6, and has a different ecm and therefore not tunable by the traditional tuners/chips. I know of none designed for the 7.8L.

That is why i was asking on here, all i remember reading about them was they are an inline 6. I have EFI Live, I might check in an EFI Live forum to see if anyone has ever tuned one. He doesn't want to go crazy, just wants a little more out of it.
