- How was the truck running fine before this problem appeared? __always seems to have very slight surging or nonsteady run (I don't know to describe, it is so slight that you wouldn't know it unless it was your truck, the engine power doesn't seem rock solid like my 1993 with a mech IP, this one feels uneven like slightly erratic)___________
- Has this problem ever happened before? _____This is the 3rd pump and has <2K miles. The 2nd pump had more pronounce erratic run and a couple of deaths before the PMD died and I replaced with a remote kit from Gomer's. It then ran another 20K and had a few stumbles and stops at the end of its life. Then came the 3rd IP.__________________
- Describe any related factors that might be part of the problem. __The dying mostly was during quick excelleration but not always, on this 3rd pump it stopped after hitting a large pothole on the interstate but started again on its own after 1 second, same night at steady speed 50mph smooth road died again for 2 seconds and restarted on own, about 5 miles later flat quit and wouldn't restart until about 1-2 hours later poking around under the hood but I didn't do anything. Started back up, cancelled the wrecker and drove home and seemed to run as good as it ever had.____________
- Have you checked for DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)? (Y.N) __Y__ And? __Codes sometimes don't make sense such as EGR codes (I don't have EGR) and set/coast switch. Had APP code 2x last pump but always checks out fine. Past codes w/ previous IPs included codes for the IP, but as of now I just have a DTC 44 (EGR) and DTC 71 (cruise control) and wasn't using cruise and don't have an EGR and according to the VIN never did.______

__Haven't run since restart and drive home (don't trust it). Although it seemed to run as good as it ever did, and I couldn't be sure if it had any unsteadiness even though I was really looking for it. I took the PMD (newest style) off rebuilt pump to use as a spare but haven't tried it yet. I'm not 100% sure if with the original pump the engine had the slight unsteadiness to it, but I believe the 2nd and 3rd does. The best example is by comparing it to my 1993 6.5TD with mech IP which feels rock steady and this 1995 maybe never did._______________________________
