I have a 94 k 3500 dually with a 6.5 diesel I've done a frame-up restoration on it pretty much but there's a few things I haven't changed it has a new tranny new gas tank newsok in the gas tank super 54 turbo s&b cold air box quadstar tuning intake tube updated water pump Duramax fan the PMD is relocated brand new the only things I didn't change is the motor the injection pump the timing chain and the injectors I thought the move motor was fairly new because it looked like it had been replaced by a crate motor cuz it says GM performance on the valve covers the sticker so I didn't replace that so when I'm driving down the road and this has gotten progressively worse over time it started out with just a miss every once in awhile and today I was driving it with my trailer on and it's started missing and lugging and power it has no power when I put the gas and if I I was just wondering if anybody could give me any, advice on it it does smoke a little bit when I first started up but nothing to two major and I do have to try to start it twice

Crack open the T- valve with the engine running.. put the hose down into on a soda bottle so you can see if there's any air coming out with the fuel you'll also be able to see how good your fuel flow is.

There is nothing coming out with it running but it comes out when I shut motor off and hit button on the harness for the prime to start harness and it flows good

It seems like it is running out of fuel I didn't do anything to get air in the system but you never know I do mechanics for a living but I don't work on diesels and this is my first diesel and I'm not really a hundred percent sure what to do I checked all the basics I check to see if the fuel filter was clogged but it's new and then I opened the t valve on the bottom and tried to bleed out the air from the top of fuel filter and really no air came out is it like crack the bleeders and it didn't seem like there was a lot of fuel squirting out of there but I'm not really sure how much should be squirting out of it it's got a brand new lift pump a Carter lift pump from Leroy diesel

You said t valve on bottom... I was referring to the one right on top of the engine right in front of you when you put the hood up... With the engine running when you open that valve up there should have a solid stream of fuel coming out.. another trick would be to open up the very front injector on the driver side the one closest to the radiator.. make sure you do it with the engine running...leave it open until there's no more foam just solid fuel coming out but don't loosen it TOO much Just enough till you start getting foam or fuel... When you turn the ignition on can you hear your lift pump running?

when I first opened it while it was running it was they was running and it stopped and it was run and then it would stop and then the second time I opened it while it was running there was nothing coming out of there so maybe my new Carter lift pump is bad t I hear it running but that doesn't mean it's pushing fuel

And I had to change the teavolve out cuz it went bad and I couldn't find any where so I put a propane valve on it

I would say disconnect the fuel line on the front of the lift pump.. the end closest to the engine then turn the ignition on.. see if you get any fuel out of it.. I know you said you put a new fuel sock in the tank but I do know a guy who had to remove the fuel sock off of his because it kept collapsing.. I myself had to change my fuel cap because it was vapor locking my tank so the pump couldn't pull fuel out of it.. just a couple of ideas

Yeah that makes a lot of sense I'm going to try that tomorrow morning and see what happens and I might put some air through the system and blow that sock down into the tank I don't want to have to take that tank back out

So if I read right you have Leroy's lift pump relay harness. If so did you get the WTS option? Your 94 from the factory won't run the lift pump during WTS.

Yes I did get the WTS when I turn the key on I can hear the pump start and then when the glow plug light goes off the pump shuts off but I also have a button-up on the relay so I can turn the pump on
