6.5 DIESEL TURBO decals on hood

Did all the '92-'99 have these?

Mine went missing there at some point in time on the '93. I suppose a new hood and/or paint in the past.

The hood is the 'light quasar blue' color. Would my '93 have had these decals? Black and red, or silver and red?

I would like to get things OEM as possible.

Any GM part numbers to share?

Silver 6.5 Diesel Red Turbo is what my 94 light blue, like yours, has on it. The black and red would contrast the light blue much better than the silver does. The original GM decals were not good. I bought replacements from a canadian seller on e-gay. The black with red turbo would be much more visable. The hood is really not a good place for vinyl decals in my opinion. You get the engine heat from below and the sun beating on it from above. The vinyl may have improved in the last 15 years. The silver and red looks much better on a darker color.

Thanks Barry. Yeah you have pretty much the Chevrolet version of my '93- wheels and all. Good lookin' truck and that's my biased opinion. I agree the BLACK on the light blue hood would be the way to do it.

Now all we need is a TTS member with a vinyl cutter and some nice vinyl...Hint hint.

I like the OEM style letters. That'd work good for me.

I have only ever seen them factory up to 94. So 92-94 only as far as I know. Ebay has them. Got this one on ebay. Its actually a hood decal. I also had one on my tailgate on the 93.

I got 4 of the decals from the e-gay seller for around $15 to my door. He has 2 sets for the price of one sales. He also makes 6.2 turbo decals. They are the same size as the originals. He also makes some bigger ones for the tailgate and a 4x4 with 6.5 turbo to replace the factory 4x4 decal. The letters and numbers are 3/4".

I just cruised egay for that seller. Not there but found several others.

I got the 4x4 with 6.5L Diesel version. Then cut the 6.5L Diesel part out of them to use on the hood and the 4x4 on bed side.

Our 99 had the decals when we got it. Too bad they were pealing and already missing letters (and the wife really didnt like them anyway)

I have debated replacing them... at least for my 95.

Me likes the black with red in the OEM script. My 4x4 decal is ok on the bedsides. Probably go with the L+R hood and tailgate stickers. Why not.

I think a good truck should have the above decals.

Devin and I checked the EPC for these, they were indeed only 92-94. There were "6.5L Diesel Turbo" and "6.5L Diesel" for NA trucks.
