recently the oil cooler lines on my truck gave out and dropped all of my oil without me knowing it until i looked down and saw that i had no oil pressure. it was still running with a loud peck or tick like a lifter before i sstarted tearing it down. i am down to bare heads and valves without bent pushrods or collapsed lifters the best i can tell. i have a chance to buy a 6.2 military pull out with 30,000 miles on it for around $500 or less. my question is what do i have to do to turbo the 6.2 and run electronic injection on it. thanks in advance for any input.

To basically buy a scrapped 94+ 6.5L for parts haha I am not quite sure about the electronic injected parts, which is why I say just find a totaled 94+ that has all the computer and tranny and motor and injection pump and everything and swap it over. I think the 6.2L block will accept the 6.5L heads with 6.5L injectors. With the heads you should be able to run the 6.5L turbo manifolds but not sure how much room you would have. If it is going in the 94 chevy in your sig, then you should be ok. I am not sure if the 6.2L block has all the ports for the sensors and everything or not. Will have to check. Well, thats as much as I can help. I am done making a fool of myself. Hopefully one of the more knowledgeable members can chime in and correct me and add to it.

the turbo is easy on a 6.2 along with all of the electronics. you use the lower half of the 6.2(block and all) and use the 6.5's upper(heads, intake, IP, and exhaust). IIRC the only other thing you'll need is the timing cover and crank gear for the sensor. the 6.2's do have a lower boost limit(8 lbs), not sure if it can be increased but using head studs or not. the only thing you might have to mock up is a oil feed line for the turbo. you can 'T' off the OP sensor or there is a port(1/4" npt) by the oil filter you can use.

That is what I have in mine.

In mine, the block was modified to accept the 1/2" oil cooler lines verses the 3/8" in the 6.2.
You need the timing gear cover from the 6.5 to mount the DS4. I think the CPS reluctor and 6.5 balanced fit on the 6.2 crank. (I don't think the crank is modified.)

If you keep the 6.2 heads, the injectors are different. The 6.5 heads fit on the 6.2.

The oil pressure switch is on the back of the motor, not in the valley. A new longer turbo oil line is needed and is tee'd from the oil pressure switch on the back of the block.

The only special recommendation made when I purchased my rebuild was to ceramic coat the pistons. (because of the turbo and heat management)
