506 block ?

How do you know it's a 506.?
Maybe that orig mill was replaced already....China comes to mind.

Some Chinese versions don't have 506 in the valley

That looks like one someone else had that had to different cast numbers, like 506 where yours is and 141 on the back. Is there anything on the back? And his didnt have the squrter holes despite having the 506 on it. And it had the diamonds in the valley there like that.

So either a GM reject or a China casting.

There should be "506" cast on the block behind the flywheel.
One way to tell china made is the sharp edges on the casting between the bores on the underside were the camshaft rides.( GM is smooth and rounded there)

I don't think its a GM reject, cause even on these there should be 506 in the valley as it was cast in when the block was made.
Reject occurs after machining when specs are not met

Yeah, reject or red headed step child maybe I should have said. Put a 4 between the vertical lines and you have 141, but might have been some of the first 506 casts.
