I have a 1998 6.5TD Tahoe 4wd. 215000 miles. Just drove 1500 miles pulling trailer last weekend. 65mph in 3rd. No TC locking up. Unhooked trailer sunday and drove to work all week. 15 miles each way Mon-Thurs. With no problems...

Coming back from lunch Thurs, the truck would not shift. Was running 2500RPM at 30MPH.

No DTC's. Fluid Good. Never got hot.

Ended up being the Shift Solenoids. Can all be done by dropping the pan, not the tranny.

Just wanted to FYI incase anyone else has same prob.

You might want to buy the kit for the transmission solenoids instead of just the solenoids.

The connectors and wiring has been known to be brittle and break when removed.

The kit is around 120 bucks from a non site vendor.

I have one in the garage as a spare. Quality stuff, acdelco parts mostly.
