4L60E or 4L80E?

Usually a 4L60 was paired with the Salsbury (sp?) semi float 14 bolt rear axle.

There are RPO codes on the sticker in the glove box, can't remember which is what.

Or look under the truck, 4L60E has the main electrical harness on the passenger side pointing up. 4L80E has this plug on the driver side just above the pan rail pointing to the left.

Pans are different, Basically square for the 4L60E and longer rectangle rounded at the rear on the 4L80E.

Most TBI 350's got the 4L60E. In 96 when they went to the vortec engine most 2500 350's got the 4L80E, but 1500's got the 4L60E.

The 4L80-E trans will have a RPO code of "MT1". The "Main" Trans electrical connector is located on the drivers side. 4L60-E Main electrical connector is located on the pass side of the case.
