Hey guys. I'm gonna help populate this site with questions :)

I just installed a 4" Straight Pipe Exhaust. Do I need to reset the computer or disconnect battery or something for truck to pick up the new better air flow?

No.
If you took the cat off, chances are it'll throw a code for insufficient EGR flow since the cat provides the backpressure needed for EGR circulation. Blocking the EGR and installing a finger stick will prevent this if you haven't already done so.

ya i removed the cat. Its a turbo back straight. The truck hasn't thrown any codes so far with about 180 miles worth of driving already.

It's strange how much the sensitivity differs between these trucks, some seem to throw codes if you fart with the windows up and some won't set a code no matter what mods people do.

But seriously, the chance of setting the CEL would be your only worry with removing the cat. How's it sound, is it raspy when you get on it at all?

It's a mixture.

When IDLE and I'm outside it sounds like a turbine. Little whistle is heard and lots of air swooshing out. If I'm inside it has a BIG BLOCK chevy sound. Very deep. I kind of wish these diesels had more of a old schools cummins sound :)

Thats the same sound I get with my 5" downpipe back w/ MBRP muffler (which is pretty much straight through), and I love it. The turbo whistle from the outside I really like, but that BIG BLOCK Chevy sound you talk about on the inside of the truck is my favorite sound of my truck.

I just told my wife the other day, I sometimes wish the Dmax sounded a little more like the Cummins, but the other times, I like that you don't hear the engine thru a soundproof room, but if you are next to it, you can still tell it is a diesel.
