Is this possible? The bed rails are rust rotted - so I'm planning on scrapping that and building a wooden bed. I was thinking about the front - and with a 350 up front - with all the room in the engine compartment - could I get away with flat or squared front fenders to clear 35" super swampers? (no tread in the center, tread on the sides, planning for 33's in the future)

Reasons I ask:

1) I'd be hard pressed to trade my 35's for 33's due to the lack of tread on the 35's
2) Front 8" lift springs are home made, so I'd really like to put stock springs in (which my friend has)
3) front fenders are cut anyhow, so they need replaced anyways.

I heard 33's are as big as you can go with a stock suspension, but I'd thought I'd check. Heck - a 2" lift up front to level the suspension would be cheaper than finding a set of front 8" lift springs for a 3/4 ton.

Thoughts? Reasoning?

I ran 36 inch swampers with a home made ad a leaf and cut fenders on a 86 gmc 3/4 ton, and 33 inch coopers with stock springs , and minor fender triming.

sweet - i don't have stock body spacers, so my body lift will have to take the place of the home made add-a-leaf for the time being.
