I been wanting to install that 3" PVC 90 on the inlet to my K47 air box along with my old rubber boot from my OEM flat factory box, got err done today. Off course all they had were white ones, no worries it's black now :) Looks nice on there

Not sure if it'll make much difference but it smokes a little less when I gun it setting in the driveway then it did prior.

I'll post some pics tomorrow if anyone is interested in seeing it...?

Thanks to the forum members here for the suggestion

I used an ABS long street elbow on mine, the male end fit the Delco filter like a glove and the old boot fit the female end great as well.

Please post pics.

Please post pics, this is very intresting couz i bought 76mm severe pipe elbow here and it is way too small for filter or rubber boot.. maybe this is one of those things where inch isn't 25,4 millimeters..

I noticed a touch more snappyness. :) Not only is it a true 90 bend, it also stops the rubber boot from collapsing on itself after that odd shaped factory bend. A great mod.

Here's a couple of pics of my ABS 3" long street elbow 90 degree

I tried the short street elbow the first time but it was too short and cocked the airbox away from the fender duct.

I used the short 90 with a short piece of coupling on the turbo end - about 1 1/2" long - I glued a piece of pipe in the elbow put the coupling piece on and cut it to length. Came out perfect.

I'm pretty sad I sold all of my pre-97 air boxes on Fleabay with the elbows. Now I'm working at converting all of them back to the old style elbows.

I used a regular 90 as apposed to a street 90. Nice tight fit in the filter.

I smoothed all the imperfections off with a file - I used the end with the least amount of cast in lettering and such. I also put a slight taper on the edge going toward the elbow.
I put a little rubber friendly grease on the filter and it slipped right in.

My filter was WAY loose on the male end but my +97 turbo side was the perfect fit on the male end. So I put a piece of 3 in pipe in the end at the turbo and taped the male end of the pipe until it fit the filter. Took abunch of tape!

My PVC elbow is just starting to deform, after about 2 years of use. Thinking about getting another, and for the price, might just be a regular maintenance thing...
Mine was also loose, i took some electrical tape and wrapped it around building it up, Fit snug now.
