Here is what I would like to do. I want to buy a new set of injectors and turn the pop presure up to 2200PSI. If I do that would that make them pop a bit late due to the higher presure or should it be fine.

You're sig says you have marine injectors, they should be around 2200 psi.

Marine injectors pop close to 2200psi. Although who knows what you really get in an injector unless you test it. They could all be way different too.

It will run fine at 2200psi, 2500+ psi and it may start to cause starting and idling issues.

Marines are pure crap. The ones I have dudnt do nothing. They worked good at first but they are starting to wear out after 5000 KM. They are these
Hertzog ones and I want to change them before they do some damage.

Stick with Bosch, Stanadyne Delphi or AC Delco. Marines are OK, probably not necessary in most cases.

It depends where you get the marines from. There are multiple ideas on what marine injectors are too. Some may be just higher pop, other may add a large nozzle too. Anymore I think its best to only buy from someone you trust, or build them yourself.

Wouldnt you want a larger orifice then? Seems like a lower pressure would start spraying sooner so you would get more fuel. So with a higher pressure you would want more fuel to spray.

You dont have to use larger orifice, the IP pressure goes up to 11000+ psi. It will get out what it metered to put into the cylinder since fuel does not compress. a larger nozzle will help lower peak injection pressures though, however reduce atomization.

Exactly what I was hopping to hear. In another post you stated it depends were you get the marines from. I got mine of Ebay from penscola diesel. I am just scared they will start to drip or have a crap sprat patteren and burn a hole through my piston. They sounded like a good Idea but after hearing Hertzog isnt really an injector company or no even that well known I am going with bosch.
