With the cruise set at 70 from Tampa to Atlanta. One fill-up, hand calculated using the mileage from the GPS. 389 something miles and just over 17 gallons.

Could have made it in one tank, but that would have been cutting it close and I had to pee. ):h

Damn, I woulda let you borrow my predator if I woulda known you were taking a trip...You coulda gotten 24 with it tuned.

If you're free tonight, we could meet off I4 for that jug.

IIRC it was just shy of $134 for fuel round trip. I'll add up my miles tonight and post an overall MPG report.

I will say the mileage was lower on the return trip due to bad weather and lousy non-driving PITA's that thought it was necessary to do 50 in a bunch on a wide open 3 lane highway in the rain.

I am going to try for 23 MPG next week, going back east hunting. A few weeks ago I got 22.6 MPG with 1000 LBS or more loaded on the truck. Highest I ever got was 22.8 MPG on level ground. There is no doubt in my mind that I can top 23 MPG, but its probably going to have to be on level ground and at speeds from 55 to 65. 70 MPH hurts it pretty bad. On my trip speeds on different highways are from 55 to 70 MPH. I try to keep my foot out of it and drive like granny. Man its hard to keep the right foot out of it especially when some idiot ticks you off and you want to smoke them out some.

must be nice ya bastids

i am lucky to get 17 now on the freeway (with bad injectors i got 19)

before i changed my rim/tire setup, i got 19 all day long on the freeway

I'm sure if you do 65 and under the 23 barrier can be broken. Problem is, the speed limits are 70 around here and everyone else does 80+. 65 is dangerous in that situation IMO.

I get 22/23 all day long stock, 65 mph @2k rpm......tried a tune heading into Nashville, DIC said i was getting 31.9 mpg.....that would be wrong info, I wished my truck would get that kind of mpg

Ugh!!! With the cold weather here and winter blend I just filled up after a near zero weekend with high winds and got 15.49. Wasn't but a few weeks ago I always got 19+ and sometimes a touch over 20. Silver lining was I paid 2.29 9 and tonight it was at 2.25 9. Semi's were lined up 4 deep this AM.

Winter blend?
Is that some kind of seasonal coffee or something? ):h

Thank God nothing like that is necessary in the South.

That's funny shit there Grady... Damn cruel too):h
.

And how were the 05 LLY for mileage? I will FINALLY be in the market for a vehicle, next fall.
The 6 speed gave me maybe 1/2 more mpg than the LLY with 5 sp but the power difference betreen the 2 is real noticable!

Yea I might have to start my fuel mileage test on the last 100 miles or so, where the trip will be on 55 MPH 2 lane roads and the last part on a 65 MPH four lane. I know the 70 MPH area of the trip will eat up the mileage and like you said its tough not getting run over. If its real windy the fuel mileage will suck unless I have a tail wind. Atleast I hope diesel will be cheaper this trip. Last trip up there it was anywhere from $2.59 to $2.79 a gallon.

Yeah Will, I think you would be alot happier with an LBZ than an LLY. I know for sure I was.

Thanks. I was looking around on autotrader.ca tonight, and the prices are amazing. End of summer/next fall is my deadline. Boat loads more of trucks will be coming off lease, so I hope to luck out with an LBZ.
