2011 Torsion Bar Help

I've been trying to find someone that wants to raise my bars and align afterward. My problem: No one wants to align the truck after the bars have been altered.

I'm not completely understanding the alignment process apparently. They are saying that once it's lifted the specs to be aligned are off and they are "guessing" on the machine.
I don't see how this is different from the 01-10 model.
 
sounds like BS to me....

Only problems I've ever had when working in the alignment bay on lifted trucks is tires too big to fit the rim clamps on or the truck is lifted so much there's not enough adjustment available to fix the camber. I"m not familiar with your year truck, but it may be like the older GMT400's (circa 88-94 ish) and require a special kit to make the front end adjustable for camber.

Toe is adjustable as long as they can get the rim clamps on it....
 
I can't see how there is any difference. Yeah, you might run out of camber adjustment and have to drop back down a round or 2 but so what?

I'm going to raise them myself and go for it. I don't know why every shop is making a big deal out of this.
 
I used to do alignment work "back in the day". The first step in doing an alignment "by the book" is to check and adjust if necessary the "Z" height. This is the height of the front end usually defined as the difference in height between the inner and outer end of the lower control arm. If the tech is a "by the book" kind of guy he will lower your bars back down to stock before doing the alignment. I agree with the others though. If your alignment guy knows what he is doing, he should be able to align it to specs at a height greater than stock. The job might take a bit longer than usual since he might need to adjust the torsion bars back down a bit to avoid running out of adjustment on caster or camber.
 
Jeff nothing has changed. Just crank em and bring it to the alignment shop and ask them to do it, and dont say a word. The spec is the spec, it needs to be at those specs for it to work right no matter if its jacked up or not. Like mike said they may run out of adjustment but thats another story, they are still aligning to the gm spec.
 
Have you tried calling a specialized 4x4 and offroad shop? I'm sure that places like that deal with this sort of thing all the time.
