Yes the punch the man card Alpha edition with a nice eco-unfrendly American V8 Gas.

I noticed some loud belt noise when the engine was hosed off and the belts were wet.
I found the crank pulley is not running true. I see a visible wobble when running.

Dealer master tech says it is normal. :skep:

:mad2: Seriously ???

Don't think I would agree with the tech's opinion either. Guess I'd be in the market for a replacement pulley. But is it the damper?

The elastomer is taking the torque of the accessory drive AS WELL AS trying to keep the harmonics to a minimum. So it's getting some serious abuse. The HB outer ring is actually grooved for the acc belt... IIRC..?

This actually Seems like a Common Problem (after a Google Search). Here's something to Look at as well, to make sure the Pulley isn't Playing Tricks on you:

I stopped at a different Chevy shop this afternoon, and had them take a look at it. They said it is normal like that, and the guy pointed out that if you look at the back part of the inner ring, it appears stationary. He's right...it does. So for now, I'm going to do like we used to say in the Army, "Fly it and watch it!"

But...others HAVE had a Wobbly Pulley, which turned out to be a Loose Bolt, and in some Cases, the Pulley actually Flew Off.

It's def. worth Closer Inspection.

Thanks, I wasn't getting that many hits on a search. I guess they left the bearing out of the design like ours has to keep it running true.
