After 130K, I finally had a DRL go out. I thought it may just be the bulb, but after doing some research, I found it is a fommon issue with the sockets burning out. So I tried the bulb with no luck. I went to NAPA and got 2 new LS94 sockets and LED bulbs.
Check out the photos. Very simple and easy fix. The new sockets have wire that is much thicker. We'll see how long these last.

You got 130k out of the factory DRL's?! Which spaghetti monster do you pray to? Christ, I think I started replacing ours at 13k... And one of the sockets on ours is burned out too. I need to do what David did and wire it up so it's a blinker instead of the DRL...

Yup. I have been very fortunate. Only other bulb that burned out was a 3157 taillight.
I did change out the regular headlights to HID's a while ago. Original high beam bulbs and fog lights.
I am anxious to see if these LED replacements run cooler than the OEM 4114K bulbs.

I don't have the mileage you guys have, but my 05 still has original DRL's. The only bulb I've had to replace was one brake bulb last year. However, when I briefly owned an 02 trailblazer I had to replace all the headlight sockets because they had all melted. Scary seeing it melted like that for no real good reason other than GM being cheap and undersizing the wire. Couldn't believe how thin it was.

In 11 years I changed either a tail or rear signal light on my 95, I can't remember which. Now I have a cab light burnt out, when will it end?
