My 2004 Chevy Suburban is making a metallic ticking sound near transmission and drive shaft. It increases with acceleration i(in time with engine) while in forward or reverse gears, and is intermittent when idling. My oil pressure is also elevated and rises and falls 40-60/70 with acceleration until engine warms up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It will help us to help you if you go to forum actions above and then on the left about 1/2 way down on the left is edit signature where you can put the info in about your Burb.
If you have the 5.3 or 6.0 engine and the ticking sound goes away when the engine warms then it's piston slap and normal for that engine. Likewise the OP fluctuation is pretty normal cold.

Bfarm thks. I edited signature, it is the 5.3L. The ticking does not go away, but the OP fluctuation levels off. I saw somewhere that it could be heAt shield noise? Noticed that while in gear w/ park brake set it rattles a bit when the brake pedal is depressed then subsides when I let off. In gear it gets noisy at 1700 rpm and beyond.

Kinda sounds like something is loose under there. But in any case, check u-joints and check for rattle fit at the tailshaft area of the trans, or transfer case if 4 wd, where the driveshaft yoke slides in.
