After 8 years me and my honey are finally got married. I just wanted wanted to make sure I was gonna still like her after the new smell wore off.LOL! We got married in Laughlin Nevada, we both love that place and hate Vegas. We planned our honeymoon around the kids spring break. We have 4 between us, just none together. I have three and she has one. We are big into the Harley thing, so it's a Harley honeymoon. We left monday morning at 6 am and headed west on I 10 towards Arizona. Our first planned stop was Sedona. Anyways it was 10 w to US 60 E to AZ 71. Then we made our way to the AZ 89 N. This took us to Sedona where we stayed and played for 2 days. After our time was up there we headed north some more. Once again on the AZ 89. This road is full of great sights that are even better on 2 wheels! We took this to the Grand Canyon and stayed there for 1 day. We did the usual sight seeing stuff. Oh, do not park your bike in the bike rack. I met a park ranger with no sence of humor what so ever. She won the dick measuring contest. Once we were all done there we headed out on our way to Zion. Once again we were on the 89 and the 89 A. This took us through Cottonwood and Jerome. All I can say is I am amazed at how beautiful the 89 is from one end to the other. We went up over the mountain and had lunch at Jacobs Lake. Once again the riding was stunning! It was a tad on the cool side. I guess we are little unprepared, butg we have survived. I had a close call with some wildlife on our way into Zion. I met a herd of Elk that wanted to cross the road right in front of us. I just about crapped my pants! It was evening and we were headed into the sun, So visability was less than perfect. I laid on the horn and was able to change all but 2 of their minds, thankfully. We entered the park on the east side and needed to go through to the west side, darn! More beautiful riding. I think my favorite part was the tunnel. It is only about 13 feet tall and two lanes, but it's like over a mile long and curvy. You have got to hear the sweet song that only a Harley can make in there! I have learned that they have an annual ride through there that is called "Thunder in the Tunnel" that can be heard and felt through the entire valley. We are staying here for two days and then we will be heading back towards home. I have put about 1200 miles on the bike in 8 days. We have about 500 or so more to go. Then it will be back at home with the four kids and relieve Grandma!
I will be getting up some awesome pics when we get home. I think my wife has taken about 500 so far. She has been snappin' away from the back seat!
